Behavioral standards in Christianity, are very high. Jesus Christ says in MATTHEW 5:48, "Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect." High Christian standards are related to all facets of Christian life: "But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy." (1PETER 1:15-16). When some people learn of these high Christian life standards, they give up and say, "It is impossible to live the Christian life in this present world."

It is important to know that we can't live a Christian life using our own strength. When we rely on our own strength we are helpless, spiritually impotent and fruitless; we are like a branch cut off from the vine, if we try to live a lone life even as Christians. Jesus Christ said in JOHN 15:4-5, "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."

God knows we can't live up to His standards, that's why God sent us his Son, so His standards could be lived out through Jesus Christ. Christ must be the one who lives the Christian life in us. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (PHILIPPIANS 4:13). "But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." By relying on "Christ in us", we find the strength to do what we could never accomplish with our own power. Beloved, you can live a victorious Christian life and become more than a conqueror, if you rely on Jesus Christ. "Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." (ROMANS 8:37). May this Word be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path!
